27 Indian players to take part in Abu Dhabi chess meet

GUWAHATI: Twenty-seven players from India are taking part in the Abu Dhabi International Open Chess Championship 2018 in UAE from August 6 to 16. Six coaches are also accompanying the Indian delegation to Abu Dhabi. The team has been sent to the prestigious event as part of an exposure tour ahead of the World Youth and the World Cadets Chess Championships to be held in Greece and Spain later this year. The All India Chess Federation (AICF), the governing body of chess in India, has nominated Biswajit Bharadwaj of Assam as one of the coaches of the Indian chess team. Bharadwaj is a licensed FIDE instructor of the World Chess Federation and is currently the director of GTC Chess Foundation and chess coach at Royal Global School, Guwahati.
