TURA: Local bodies from Dalu and its adjoining areas from both West and South Garo Hills have expressed strong opposition to the setting up of any more wine stores (IMFL) at Barengapara and Chaipani areas. Organisations like the Achik Youth Welfare Organisation and Garo Hills State Movement Committee from Dalu and Mothers’ Union from both Dalu and Dimapara on Wednesday submitted a complaint to the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner urging that no more licenses for the opening of wine stores are given for the two areas.
The opposition by the organisations comes after it was allegedly learnt from reliable sources that fresh licenses were going to be issued for the said areas.
