Unclaimed body
On June 2, a person was found lying at Motphran, Shillong, and was shifted to Civil Hospital. On the same day, he had been referred to NEIGRIHMS but on August 9 he passed away. Accordingly, all formalities have been observed and the body in the hospital morgue room for identification. Description of the deceased seemed to be a non-tribal with black hair, around 40-45 years old, 5’6 ft height and Swarthy complexion.

Dry day
The DC of North Garo Hills District, Resubel-para, has declared dry day on Wednesday on account of Indepen-dence Day. All IMFL retail shops and all bonded warehouses under the District shall remain closed on the above mentioned date. Any violation of the order will be viewed seriously as per the Meghalaya Excise Rule.
Mahayagya
Gour – Nitai Sangha, Laban, organised Astha Prahar Harinam Sankirtan Mahayayga at Laban Namghar premises. More than 5000 devotees attend the Mahajaygo. Adhibash was started on from 7 pm on August 11 and main kirtan was on August 12.
