Former HC judge’s son surrenders in hit&run case

GUWAHATI: Bowing to the mounting public protest, Abinash Sharma, son of a former Judge of Gauhati High Court has surrendered before city traffic police in Jalukbari police station in connection with a hit-run-incident that resulted in death of one Ganesh Rao, an employee of the Railway, at Maligaon area in the city on the night of August 14 last.
A Wagon-R car allegedly driven Sharma hit the person causing death to him. Police said Sharma surrendered on Sunday night. For the last few days since August 15, local people have been agitating in from of Jalukbari Police station in the city demanding arrest of Sharma over the incident. Police issued summon to Sharma asking him to surrender by Monday.
