Hazaribagh: A court here sentenced two persons to death on Wednesday for killing a man in the district four years ago.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Satyanand awarded capital punishment to Brijlal Murmu and Sohon Manjhi for hacking to death Chhotelal Kishku in Pasaria village on November 14, 2014.
Seven other accused in the case were acquitted for lack of evidence. Manjhi’s son died a few days before the incident and there was a rumour that the death was because of black magic practised by Kishku.
During trial, public prosecutor Uday Pratap Singh informed the court that nine people, including Murmu and Manjhi, attacked Kishku with axes and sticks killing him on the spot. (PTI)
