LUCKNOW: Fighting elections in Uttar Pradesh where it has been out of power for over two decades, Congress on Friday promised to create 20 lakh jobs, provide sub-quota for most backward classes and eliminate corruption.

The ‘Vision Document 2020’, released in ten different cities in the state, lays out the roadmap for all round development by bringing in key changes in sectors like education, employment and economy.

The Document was released here by Union Minister and chairman of the election manifesto committee Salman Khurshid and UPCC chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi.

It aims at creating 20 lakh new jobs for the youth of UP in the next five years and start a major programme for skill development by setting up 1000 centres to train 20 lakh youth every year besides a UP skills and employment mission.

“The Congress-led UPA government has already approved 4.5 per cent reservation for the socially and economically backwards Muslims under the OBC category across the country in central government jobs, PSUs and educational institutions and we will ensure its full and timely implementation,” it said.

Quota politics has become synonymous with India over the 63 years. (PTI)
