And hype is all that the constituency has as basic amenities like proper communication, water supply scheme and street lights are not lacking.
A group of journalists spoke to citizens from all walks of life in the constituency and tried to know the difficulties they face.
Aditya Having, a teenager, said the constituency has no proper roads and the water scarcity is severe.
P Check Marak, a senior citizen who was waiting for her turn to cast her vote in one of the polling stations, also echoed similar views terming road and water scarcity as the biggest problems in the constituency.
A youth, Tinku Sangma, while sharing his thoughts, said, “We want development in the area.”
Almost all the candidates for the South Tura by-poll have made a number of promises to woo voters and it will be known only on August 27 as to which leader the people have given their mandate. However, it may take years to notice what changes the chosen one brings about in the constituency.
