SHILLONG: NPP MLA from Phulbari Esmatur Mominin has alleged that the Congress is trying to destabilise the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) from the first day of the formation of the government.
Talking to media persons on Friday, Mominin said, “They (Congress leaders) have not succeeded in breaking the government till now and they will not be successful even in future.”
Asserting that there is no threat to the alliance from any corner, the legislator said that all the MLAs and coalition partners are “very much satisfied” with the working style of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
“HSPDP, UDP and PDF are partnering with us because they were not happy with the Congress leadership,” he added.
Expressing confidence that the coalition would last its full tenure, he added that all the MLAs and coalition partners are working hand in hand and the chief minister has given the freedom to work as per their wisdom.
“The chief minister does not interfere with the departments which he is not holding,” Mominin said.
