SHILLONG: The Congress state leadership, which is yet to overcome the loss sustained in the Assembly polls and the just concluded by-polls, is in a state of disarray.
Party insiders said both CLP leader Mukul Sangma and MPCC president Celestine Lyngdoh are not taking any pro-active steps to uplift the morale of the MLAs and party members.
What irks a few party men is that though Sangma is the CLP leader, response to several crucial issues, is not handled by him as the statements are given by either Congress spokesperson Zenith Sangma or the Opposition Chief Whip PT Sawkmie.
A section of the party leaders feels that since the Congress will face the electorate for the upcoming district council and the Lok Sabha polls, other capable leaders should be appointed to lead the party.
Recently, the AICC brought back Luizinho Faleiro to look after the party affairs in Meghalaya.
However, he is yet to meet the party leaders to understand the ground reality.
