Dorbar distributes garbage bins to locals

Nongpoh: In a bid to create mass awareness among the locals on the importance of maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the village, the Dorbar Shnong of Lumnongrim Dewlieh distributed garbage bins to 300 households in the village.
In a meeting held at Lumnongrim Dewlieh Community Hall, local headman Eddie G. Kharbani distributed the bins to selected households.
The villagers also extended their gratitude to the village dorbar for taking up such an initiative.
In his address to the gathering, Kharbani said that the garbage bins were sponsored by the village dorbar to sensitize the locals on the careless dumping of waste which is a health hazard not only to the locals but to the environment as well.
