SHILLONG: A 50-year-old man who had come to the city for treatment at NEIGRIHMS has gone missing from Police Bazar.
Rampati Baniya, a resident of Assam’s Lakhipur district, came to Shillong along with his son-in-law, Rajesh Kanu, for treatment. Early on September 4 morning, they went to NEIGRIHMS and spent the wholeday there, said the FIR lodged by Kanu at Sadar police station.
Around 5.30pm, after completion of the medical check-up, they came to Police Bazar to buy bus tickets to Assam. “However, on our way to the bus stand, I suddenly realised that that my father-in-law was missing. I tried my best to trace him but unfortunately even after searching for him the entire night, I failed to locate him,” the FIR stated.
The man was wearing a blue and black shirt and jeans. He is over 4 ft tall.
On September 5, Kanu left for his home town thinking that Baniya might have returned. Also, Kanu was running out of money.
But after reaching home, he found out that Baniya did not reach.
So he and his wife came to Shillong on September 7 and hence there was a delay in lodging the FIR, Kanu said in his statement.
For providing any information on the man, one can call on 9365690652.
