World Literacy Day celebrated in Nongpoh

NONGPOH: The office of the District Mission Coordinator, Ri Bhoi District Unit, SSA-SEMAM celebrated World Literacy Day in a programme held at Ri Bhoi Presbyterian Higher Secondary School, Pahamlapong on Saturday.
District School Education Officer VS Nongbet attended the programme as the chief guest in the presence of Education Department officers and students from different schools in the district.
Swachata Pakhwada was also conducted to impart mass awareness on the importance of cleanliness, health and sanitation.
Various activities such as debate and drawing competitions were also held after which certificates and mementos were awarded to the winners.
VS Nongbet complimented the students on their active participation and urged them to pursue higher studies. School inspectors comprising PP Yadap, Vincent Nianglang and R Raisal were also present during the programme.
