SHILLONG: AICC General Secretary in charge Meghalaya, Luizinho Faleiro has alleged that the people of Meghalaya, Goa and Manipur had given their mandate to the Congress but they (BJP) through the help of the Office of Governor hosted a Government against the will of the people.

Talking to media persons here on Monday, Luizinho Faleiro said, “They robbed the mandate of the people in  Meghalaya, Goa and Manipur.”

Quoting Bommai case, Faleiro said that  as per the decision of the Court , it is normally a practice that the Office of the Governor or the President had to invite the single largest party first to form the Government.

He also said that after the recent experience in Meghalaya, Congress had immediately written letter to the Governor in Karnataka to invite Congress to form the Government but later the party had to knock at the door of the Court for the matter.

Reacting to a query about the desertions of its MLA, MM Danggo he said that there was anti defection law but if someone still deserted than it was a matter of shamelessness rather than honour and the people of Ranikor constituency had given their loud and clear signal on the matter.
