HLC on sweeper colony yet to arrive at a solution

SHILLONG: The High Level Committee (HLC), constituted to find out a solution into the relocation of sweeper colony, is yet to submit its recommendation to the government and is still carrying on with the process of meeting with all the stakeholders before submitting its recommendations to the state government.

Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister and also the chairman of the HLC, Preston Tynsong on Tuesday informed that the committee had met the Syiem of Hima Mylliem on Monday and many more meetings were lined up for the next week.

“Our ultimate aim is to come out with a solution to the issue,” said Tynsong.

Asked when is it likely to be done with, Tynsong said, “Once that is done we will proceed further and give our recommendation to the government”.
