SHILLONG: The Baghabatta Centre Development Council under Kharkutta C&RD Block, North Garo Hills on Friday submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma seeking for mobile tower.
The association stated that 25 villages, having a combined population of 15000, are still without mobile towers and claimed that many leaders have in the past promised to set up one which was never accomplished.
“As we are now in the 21st century, we depend on technology to help us communicate… be it for business or office work. Since we do not have one in our areas, we feel we are left behind,” the memorandum said. They urged the CM to help the villages to get a mobile tower at the earliest.
