Rally in Nongpoh against rising fuel prices

Nongpoh: Concerned over the rising prices of petrol and diesel, the Nongpoh Region Auto Owners and Drivers Association in consultation with the people of Nongpoh Area will be holding a public rally in the district headquarter of Ri Bhoi on September 20.
Talking to The Shillong Times, organising secretary of the association, Joseph Syngkli said the association is deeply concerned over the frequent increase of petrol and diesel prices which is affecting both commercial and private vehicles and the common man as well.
“We have decided to hold a public rally on September 20 at 11 am, starting from NSCA playground, Pahamsyiem towards District Transport Office and then back to NSCA playground where a short programme will also be held,” Syngkli said.
Syngkli also urged the taxi, sumo associations and all concerned people to take part in the rally.
