Manipur CM assures new water supply scheme

Imphal: Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has said that a water supply scheme will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 9.12 crore at Kakching Khunou in Kakching District to provide drinking water to the people of the area soon.
He made the announcement while speaking at a Go to Village camp jointly organised by District Administration, Kakching and Kakching Khunou Municipal Council at Kakching Khunou on Tuesday.
Detailed Project Report of the project had already been submitted and the sanction order is being awaited, the Chief Minister conveyed. Considering the inconvenience faced by the people of the area at the time of medical emergency, Biren Singh also said that Primary Health Centre, Kakching Khunou would be made operational 24×7 by deputing three more doctors soon.
Apart from constructing a new building of Kakching Khunou Municipal Council as soon as possible, the State Government would also consider repairing of Kakching Khunou market shed, he added.
He also said that the local playground would also be revamped under Government’s Khelo India scheme. Birenr also promised to put the matter forward to the authority concerned. (UNI)
