SHILLONG: In-form Langsning SC were held by Luangmual FC in a crucial preliminary round match of the 2nd Division I-League played at the Ambedkar Stadium in New delhi on Saturday.

The team from Mizoram drew first blood after its striker Lalriathzuala converted a penalty in the 76th minute. However, Sanjay Chettri scored to restore parity for Langsning in the 86th minute.

Earlier, both teams played a goalless first half. Crossing over Luangmual was awarded a penalty after its player Malsawm Tluanga was tripped inside the box. Striker Lalriathzuala made no mistake to convert from the spot and take his side to a 1-0 lead in the 76th minute.

Buoyed after conceding the goal, Langsning pushed themselves for the equaliser and the hard work paid off in the 86th minute when Sanjay Chettri scored a stunner to level it for his team.

With this draw Langsning have four points from two matches and play their next tie against Simla Youngs FC on Wednesday.
