JeM commander killed in J&K gunfight

Srinagar: A top commander of the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terror outfit was killed on Sunday in a gunfight with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama District, polce said.
The slain militant was identified as Adnan Bhai, a resident of Pakistan. He was a top commander of JeM, involved in many militancy related incidents.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Dar Ganie Gund village on Sunday morning after receiving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area, an official said.
“As the cordon was tightened, the militant opened fire. The house in which the militant was hiding was destroyed during the shootout,” the officer added.
After a brief exchange of fire, Adnan was shot dead. (Agencies)
