SHILLONG: The wife of a BSF personnel has filed an FIR over the suspicious nature of death of her husband.
Earlier, Sunil Dhope’s body was found near his quarters in Shillong where he was posted five years ago. Dhope was originally from Maharashtra. His wife lodged a complaint stating that one senior officer of BSF, Shillong and four others are responsible for the death of her husband. Savita Sunil Dhope filed the FIR in Maharashtra and the Police registered a ‘Zero’ FIR which means that the crime has taken place in another jurisdiction but the complaint has been lodged with the Maharashtra police and the case was forwarded to Laban Police station for further probe. Attempts were made to contact Shillong Police and BSF Meghalaya Frontier for comments but they could not be reached.
