New Delhi: Ram Vilas Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party on Tuesday demanded the Central government to immediately withdraw the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act from Jammu and Kashmir for alleged abuse by the security forces. “The shocking report, that the Home Ministry has rejected at least 42 requests to sanction the prosecution of military personnel guilty of crimes such as murder, homicide and rape in Kashmir should open the eyes of those who have stubbornly opposed the withdrawal of AFSPA from Kashmir,” LJP secretary general Abdul Khaliq said. ”The LJP strongly condemns the protection afforded by the state to the armed forces people involved in such crimes,” Mr Khaliq added.
