Flow irrigation project in Ri-Bhoi under process

SHILLONG: The Water Resources Minister Metbah Lyngdoh informed Meghalaya State Assembly that the proposal for the scheme, “Flow Irrigation Project cum Anti-Erosion Measures on both banks along Umpyrli river at Nongpoh,” Ri-Bhoi district for an estimated amount of Rs 1750 lakh was under process.

Replying to a supplementary query raised by Congress MLA Mayralborn Syiem, Lyngdoh said the scheme has been prepared and it was from the Ministry of DoNER.

Raising a supplementary question, Syiem raised concern that some schemes funded by the NEC were stalled.

The minister said the government would examine the source of funding for the project.
