Forest official calls for eco friendly Puja

SHILLONG: The Divisional Forest Officer, Social Forestry, has the Durga Puja committees to adhere to safety norms by preparing eco friendly idols to save rivers from pollution and minimise health hazards.
The officer has directed all Puja committees to use clay and natural colours for idol making and decoration.
The DFO has also asked them to use paper, wood and other organic materials instead of Styrofoam.
