Amit Shah to attend BJP meeting in Assam

GUWAHATI: BJP President Amit Shah along with several other central party leaders will be present during the Assam State BJP’s executive committee meeting to be held in the river island district of Majuli in Assam on October 10 and 11 to discuss the party’s strategy for the general election 2019.
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance minister, Dr Himanta Bishwa Sarma, state BJP president Ranjeet Das and State BJP organisation secretary, Phani Sharma on Saturday met the BJP national President in New Delhi and held a discussion on the party’s preparedness from the grass root level for the next Lok Sabha election in the country.
The state BJP leaders have been directed to strengthen the party from the grass root level.
A party source informed that the issues related to National Register of Citizens (NRC) were also discussed in the meeting held in New Delhi on Saturday.
