MLCU organises free health camp in Ri Bhoi

SHILLONG: Martin Luther Christian University through its Department of Allied Health Sciences (AHS) conducted a free health camp for the villagers of Nongrim-Nongladaw, Bhoi Rhymbong in Ri Bhoi District.
The health camp held not only consultations with doctors but also tests were performed by the students of the department of AHS.
The village has an approximate of 120 households and more than 200 villagers. Both young and old participated in the health camp and took the opportunity to get checked and were also given the prescribed medicines free of cost.
As part of the National Nutrition Month (Poshan Maah) celebration, the students from the Nutrition and Deititics Cell of the department participated in the Nutritious Indigenous Food Festival organised by the Nutrition department of The Children’s Hospital, Shillong, on the theme ‘Go further with food’ which was held on the Hospital premises on Saturday.
The items prepared by the AHS students were awarded with first, third and consolation prize.
