NE Olympic Games
The First North East Olympic Games will be held at Imphal from October 24 to 28. The Meghalaya Weightlifting Association requests weightlifters across Meghalaya to take part in this event. The selection trial will be held on October 6 at Nongpoh Stadium from 10 am onwards.
Air fest
As part of the 86th Air Force Day celebrations, the Headquarters Eastern Air Command in Upper Shillong is planning an Air Force Festival ‘Air Fest 2018’ on October 6 and 7. The festival is being conducted at the Shillong Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) and is open to all Indian citizens between 10 am to 4pm on both days. It will commence with a fly past of Su-30 MKI multi-role fighter aircraft and Mi-17 Russian built Helicopters. A display by Air Warriors Drill Team (AWDT) and exercise towards Small Troops Incursion & Evacuation (STIE) by IAF ‘Garud’ Commandos is also planned.
