KAJALGAON (ASSAM): The Bodo National Festival Committee (BNFC) delegates from across the country on Wednesday adopted resolution for greater ties among the Bodo groups in India and abroad.

As per the resolutions adopted at the fourth BNFC here, a dictionary would be compiled soon for Bodo linguistic groups and Bodo students from Mizoram, Nepal and Bangladseh would be sponsored for higher studies in Bodoland area of Assam.

BNFC President and MP Biswajit Daimary told PTI that leaders of the Bodo groups would work together to resolve the problems of the Brus of Mizoram and the Meches of Nepal.

In this connection a high level delegation from the councils of Bodo groups would undertake a fact-finding study for the Bru people living in Mizoram and the Dimasa Kacharis living in Nagaland, the MP said.

In Assam a BNFC delegation would go to Haflong in Dima Hasao district to discuss with Dimasa organisations and leaders for co-operation between the two ethnic communities, he said.

Resolving to continue cultural exchange among the Bodo groups, the BNFC also decided to hold its fifth Bodo national festival in Dima Hasao district next year. The Dimasas comprise the dominant tribe of Dima Hasao district of Assam.

Among the ten resolutions adopted in this five-day festival was for the delegates to expand and reshuffle the executive body, in which members from Bangaladesh and Nepal, besides from other states of the country would be included, Daimary said. (PTI)
