JOWAI: A 29-year-old woman’s body with her throat slit was found in a rented house at Riatsasim of Iawmusiang locality here on Thursday night.
West Jaintia Hills police suspect that Daphibanker Phawa’s throat was slashed with a sharp weapon, maybe a Khasi knife. Her body was found on the bed covered with blood. This is the second murder in less than seven months and police are yet to make headway in the earlier case that took place in Khliehriat.
Phawa and her three children lived on rent in the house owned by her husband’s mother. She taught in a private school in Jowai, the police said.
