In a first, NEHU scientists decode parasite genome

SHILLONG: Scientists from NEHU have won the race in successfully decoding the genome of an important parasite for the first time.
This groundbreaking work was accomplished by the genomic expertise of Dr. Devendra K Biswal, Senior Information Officer, Bioinformatics Centre, NEHU and leading parasitologist Prof. Veena Tandon, who superannuated from her services at NEHU in 2014 and is presently working as Senior Scientist at Biotech Park, Lucknow.
She was earlier conferred with the Padmashree for her contributions to Science.
