Govt to examine court order on teachers
SHILLONG: The state government is undecided on the future course of action after the recent court verdict directing the government to pay the pension and other benefits to several categories of teachers as per the fifth pay commission recommendations. An official said that the court order will be examined before finally deciding on the matter.

Holidays in EGH
WILLIAMNAGAR: The East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, L Ch Marak, has declared October 25 and November 8 as local holidays on account of 28th death anniversary of Capt. Williamson A Sangma, the first Chief Minister of Meghalaya, and 100 Drums Wangala respectively. The notification issued in this regard stated that all magisterial courts, educational institutions and Government offices will remain closed on these two days.

Ex-Servicemen programme
TURA: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh has informed that an Outreach Programme for Ex-Servicemen of Garo Hills Region to address the grievances of Ex-Servicemen/ Veer Naris and Widows of the Army will be held on October 22 and 23 at District Auditorium in Tura. Therefore, anyone belonging to the Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependents can attend the said programme in the above mentioned dates.
