SHILLONG: West Garo Hills Police recently arrested a person besides seizing substantial amount of arms and ammunition from his possession.
Acting on a tip off about the movement of a person identified as Chuang to procure ammunition for committing crimes, police conducted naka checking at Nengkalgre village of the district.
During the checking, police detected 24-year-old Rak K Sangma from a MTC bus and recovered one 7.65mm pistol, one magazine, three live rounds of 7.65mm of ammunition, ½ kg suspected explosive materials, two detonators with wires and one mobile phone from his possession.
