Powergrid
Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed in Powergrid on Monday in which a walkathon was organised to generate awareness against corruption among the citizen. The awareness walk was organised in association with Dr. Radhakrishnan Boy’s HS School and Umpling (R) Girls HS School, Umpling, Shillong. All the students, teachers of the schools joined the Powergrid employees in this campaign.
Dry day
The DC (Excise), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has declared November 7 as dry day in the district on account of Diwali. All bonded warehouse/IMFL shops/bars/hotels/clubs and outstill shops shall remain closed on the day.
Cultural event
The Yogamaya Ashram will organise a cultural competition as part of their Sri Sri Dipanwaita Kali Puja celebration on November 6. The ashram has invited students to participate in their inter-school art and singing competition which is to be held on the ashram premises on Sunday.
