NONGPOH: Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem on Thursday conducted an inspection at an abandoned Inspection Bungalow (IB) of the PWD Department at Umden, Ri Bhoi, which was built a decade ago.
During the inspection, it was found out that most of the wooden furniture, ceiling and doors of the building were decayed and require fresh renovation whereas some of the electrical appliances were stolen from the building.
Expressing concern over non-functioning of the building despite being fully completed by the contractor way back in 2008, Syiem said, “It is indeed a matter of grave concern and also wastage of public money”.
However, Engineers of the Public Works Department, who were also present during the inspection, have assured the Nongpoh legislator to renovate the damaged parts of the building within a period of two months for early inauguration aimed at making it fully functional for the welfare of people.
