SHILLONG: The dilapidated bridge over the Wah Umsong Wahlakhiat in East Khasi Hills is giving a tough time to locals, especially farmers from the border areas of Wahlakhiat in the district who cannot take their produce to the market.
In a statement issued here, the president of the Hynniewtrep Border Area
Farmer Association, SB Sban Khongioh, met Border Area Development Minister Lahkmen Rymbui and informed him about the condition of the bridge. He urged the minister to sanction funds for repair work.
The bridge was sanctioned by the office of the Director, Border Area.
