GH Anganwadi workers’ conference held

SHILLONG: The All Garo Hills Anganwadi Workers’ and Helpers’ Association (AGHAWA) held its 24th annual conference at Mendipathar in North Garo Hills recently.
Representatives of all the Anganwadi projects from entire the Garo Hills region and other leaders were present at the conference.
At the conference, it was decided to urge the Government for quality food supplement pertaining to the complaints of the beneficiaries.
AGHAWA felt the necessity of assistance to the mini anganwadi workers for which they would write to the concerned authority. One of the major reasons of the conference was the delay in payment of honorarium to the Anganwadi workers for which they will send an ultimatum to the Government. It also resolved to seek honorarium of Rs 1500 per anganwadi worker from the State Government.
