Four child workers rescued in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A joint effort by the labour department, police and representatives of the Bachpan Bachao Andolan led to the rescue of four children who were engaged as labourers in the Jalukbari area, here on Wednesday. Three children were identified and rescued from two restaurants while another child was rescued from a slaughter house in the area. An FIR was lodged against the defaulting employers by labour inspectors from the office of the assistant labour commissioner, Kamrup metro, an official statement said here on Wednesday.
