NEHU professor sent to four-day police custody

SHILLONG: The associate professor and head of the Department of Bio-medical Engineering at NEHU who was arrested for taking bribe was remanded in four-day police custody on Saturday.
Dinesh Bhatia was arrested by CBI on Friday and was produced in the court around 3pm on Saturday.
Bhatia was arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act for taking a bribe of Rs 40,000 in cash. The money was part of the proceeds of fake bills sanctioned by him.
