FCI staff to stage mass hunger strike on Tuesday

SHILLONG: The employees of Food Corporation of India (FCI) will  stage hunger strike before the FCI, Regional Office, Mawlai Mawroh here on Tuesday along with the rest of the country.

The Bhartiya Khadya Nigam Karmachari Sangh (BKNKS) has proposed to mass hunger strike before all the district offices/regional offices/zonal offices/ FCI head quarters on Tuesday.

The BKNKS has time and again petitioned the top management of FCI for early settlement of wage revision of category III and IV employees with effect from January 1, 2017 and exclusion of OTA of 50 per cent ceiling allowance and fringe benefits under cafeteria approach and other demands related to wage revision.
