SHILLONG: The Agreed Text of Settlement with ANVC may be re-looked by the state government since it was drafted in a hurry four years ago.
The former ANVC general secretary, Wanding Marak, chairman Dilash Marak and former advisor to the chairman and high level committee member Solmea Marak said the ANVC had to sign the agreement on September 24, 2014, without even going through the content.
“The state government at that point of time did not give us the content of the agreement. We were not happy but we did not want to create a scene as we respected the Centre,” the ANVC leaders said on Friday.
The ANVC leaders hoped that with the new state government, there will be re-examination of the agreement.
“There was a hush-hush approach in 2014 and we were not taken into confidence. We were made to sign the agreement blindly,” the ANVC leaders said, adding that the government has not formed the committees as suggested in the agreement and several initiatives are yet to be fulfilled by the government.
They said construction of Tura medical college, handing over of minor subjects to GHADC, nursing college, horticulture college, Baljek airport and several important road projects are still pending.
