New Delhi: The curtains are up and stage is set for the seventh annual Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META). Bringing together the best of Indian theatre, META recently announced the nominees that have been shortlisted across 13 categories and are set to compete for the META 2012 honour.
META, India’s only national award for the theatre industry, received 268 entries this year from across the nation. From the entries sent on recorded DVDs, a selection committee picked the 10 best productions over a period of one week of intensive screenings and viewings.
From March 1 to 6, the selected production houses will perform in Delhi in front of a grand jury comprising of eminent names like Amal Allana, Ananda Lal, Darshan Jariwala, Mukund Padmanabhan and Samik Bandyopadhyay at the Sri Ram Centre at 5:00 PM and Kamani Auditorium at 7:30 PM.
The awards night will be held on March 7 at the Taj Mahal Hotel. (Agencies)
