Mawkyrwat: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mawkyrwat Mandal recently met Health Minister, AL Hek and requested him to immediately appoint the District Medical & Health Officer (DM&HO) in South West Khasi Hills District. The post has been left vacant since the transfer of Dr M. Marbaniang in July this year.
“Since July 2018, the post of DM&HO is taken charge by Dr FR Lartang who also holds the post of Sub-Divisional Medical & Health Officer, Mawkyrwat CHC. This has become a burden for him and has also affected the smooth functioning of the department,” the spokesperson, Mihsalan Turnia said.
“The minister had promised us that he will see that the post is filled within this month,” Turnia said.
