SHILLONG: At the 25 years celebration of BBS College, Health and Family Welfare Minister A.L. Hek, said people should not allow communalism, hatred and ego to rule their lives.
The anniversary programme was held at U Soso Tham Auditorium on Tuesday, where the minister was the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, Hek said “Success cannot be achieved if the communalism, hatred and ego take up space in a person’s life.”
A person living a life of dignity is of utmost importance which cannot be measured by the number of academic achievements a person has, he added.
On the other hand, Hek said career counseling is crucial for the students to enable them to guide which subjects to take and not merely based on parental pressure. Meanwhile, MLA from Shillong West, Mohendro Rapsang said meaningful learning process should be imparted as the students prepare for the future. He added that imparting life skills to students apart from academic is also important.
