Gulbarga: Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda on Sunday said BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa should get important posting as he belongs to senior cadre of the party.

Speaking to reporters at Chincholi in the district today, he said, ‘important posts should come the way of Mr Yeddyurappa as he is a very senior leader.’

He, however, did not say when this will happen but said the party central leadership will take a ‘suitable’ decision. ‘There is no dissidence in the party but some small confusion is present.

‘The Core Committee meeting party, to be held on March 3 in Delhi, will address the whole gamut of these issues,’ Gowda said.

The BJP Central leadership is stone-walling the sustained efforts from Mr Yeddyurappa to resume a key post after he quit as Chief Minister following allegations of corruption and involvement in illegal mining as per the Lokayukta report last year.

Gowda said he would provide major push for the Hyderabad-Karnataka region in the coming budget he would present on March 21. Besides, agriculture will get a prominent place in his budget. ‘I will take a cue from Mr Yeddyurappa’s agri-budget presented last year. It is important to party and the government,’ he said.

The Chief Minister said the government was proactive in inviting investment in the state and ready to facilitate the major corporations to set up shops, mainly in the backward areas in the state. (PTI)
