Meghalaya begins registration of AM-PMJAY

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Government has started the registration of beneficiaries on a pilot mode for the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in convergence with Megha Health Insurance(MHI)  Phase IV

Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare department, Pravin Bakshi said that registration of beneficiaries on a pilot mode had started in some districts and some people had also been issued with their cards

“ We will be going to start the registration very shortly as right now test runs are going and softwares are being checked,” he said.

It may be mentioned that 3.47 lakh beneficiaries belonging to the Socio Economic Caste Census category as defined under the Ministry of Rural Development, GOI, will be covered under the PMJAY while the remaining, amounting to around 7 lakh beneficiaries, will be covered by the State Government under the MHIS phase IV health insurance scheme.

He said that the people while registering themselves with the scheme would have to produce their identify cards like EPIC, driving license etc and this time around, the Government would distribute individual cards to the beneficiaries.

The Government intends to provide quality health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakhs to all families of the state, barring state and central government employees. The benefits of this convergence can be availed at empanel led Health facilities in the state and outside of Meghalaya.
