State-level sub-junior boxing championship underway

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Boxing Association (MBA) organized the State Sub Junior Men & Women Boxing Championships 2018-19 on January 26 at Indoor Sports Hall, Mawlai Mawroh. The participating teams include the Boxing Association of East Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Boxing Association, East Jaintia Boxing Association, Green Heart Boxing Club, Rising Boxing Association, Nongpoh Boxing Club, Mawryngkneng Boxing Club, Upper Shillong Boxing Association and some individuals and the total number of pugilists was more than 70. 17 bouts for boys and 6 bouts for girls were conducted on the first day. The semi-final and final bouts will take place on February 2. The opening ceremony was attended by Teibor Pathaw, JF Kharshiing, Working President of Meghalaya State Olympic Association, Peter Lyngwi, President of MBA, Larry Kharpran, Secretary of MBA and all the executive members of the MBA
