Airmarshall files papers, confident of Cong win

MAWKYRWAT: Congress candidate from Ranikor for the KHADC poll, Airmarshall Diengngan is riding on the increasing support to his candidature and is confident of winning.
Speaking to reporters after filing his nomination papers in Mawkyrwat on Monday, Diengngan said, “We are confident of winning the election because many leaders from other parties like the UDP, NPP, HSPDP and the PDF have joined us.”
Diengngan was accompanied by South West Khasi Hills District Congress Committee general secretary Basan P Lyngdoh, president of the Ranikor Block Congress Committee K Lyngkhoi, candidate in the last Assembly Election Jackuish Sangma, youth leader Vincent Sangma and others.
PDF eaders who joined the Congress on Monday are former general secretary of Ranikor Remdor Thongni, former Youth president of Ranikor Wanshanbor Wanniang and leader Mandalos Nongbri, besides former HSPDP Ranikor president Hardingwell Sarman.
“We welcome you all to this party and let us all work hard so that we can win this election,” Lyngkhoi said.
Former BJP leader Pelcy Snaitang and her supporters also joined the Congress recently.
PDF candidate from Mawkyrwat and local MDC Hadrian Lyngdoh also filed his nomination papers in Mawkyrwat on Monday.
