SHILLONG: The Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong will celebrate its 75 year (Platinum Jubilee) and the yearlong Swami Vivekananda’s 150th Birth Anniversary with a Phase I public celebration starting from March 23 – Holy Mother Day.
The inauguration of the platinum jubilee will start with the light of 75 lamps, Sadhu Varan (formal reception of monks), Public Meeting, Leela Giti – Vishwajanani Sarada Devi. In this connection a meeting was conducted on March 9 which was attended by Irrigation and Soil Conservation Minister, Assam Ardhendu Dey.The celebration will further observe on March 24 – Swami Vivekananda Day with Prabhat Pheri (morning procession), get together of indigenous people of Lumsohra, Public Meeting, Leela Geeti – Narener Thakur – Thakurer Naren.
On March 25 – Sri Ramakrishna Day will be observed with Sarva Shanti Puja, Public Meeting and Leela Giti – Karunasindhu Sri Ramakrishna.
The functions will also be participated by revered monks from all over the country including Ex-Monks of Shillong Centre and Swami Girishanandaji Maharaj, Senior Trustee, Ramakrishna Math & Mission, Belur Math.
