Teachers’ training held in Jaintia Hills

Shillong: A training programme on leadership skills was conducted in East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills recently with an aim to empower the head teachers of government and SSA schools under the Bharti Foundation’s Satya Bharti Quality Support Programme (QSP).
The programme is an initiative of the state government in collaboration with the district education departments along with the foundation’s efforts to develop a strong sense of leadership in the lives of every teacher in the state.
The programme was held at Khatsoo Ripnar Higher Secondary School, Dkhiah East Khliehriat on February 5 and at BTC-DIET, Thadlaskein on February 6 which was attended by more than 43 head teachers across 50 government and SSA schools.
L Lyngdoh, Deputy Director, Directorate School Education and Literacy attended the programme as the chief guest and emphasised on the importance for teachers to be prepared when it comes to dealing with the students.
Mary W Lynrah, state co-ordinator of SSA schools for elementary and pedagogy attended the programme as the guest of honour along with EF Shullai, SDSEO, West Jaintia Hills.
