SHILLONG: Education Minister Prof RC Laloo has informed that there is no intention on the part of the State Government to provincialise the deficit secondary schools in the State.

Replying to a supplementary question raised by NCP legislator James K Sangma during the Question Hour in the Assembly on Monday, Prof Laloo said that at the moment, the Government is trying to optimise its resources for enhancing the grant-in-aid of the ad hoc institutions.

Earlier, while replying to the question raised by Satto R Marak (NCP), the Education Minister informed that there are a total number of 121 deficit schools in the State.
