SHILLONG: A full budget will be presented in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly on March 13 by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, who is also holding the finance portfolio.
The Business Advisory Committee, which met on Tuesday, fixed the session from March 8 to 22.
Andrew Simons, Commissioner and Secretary, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, said there will be 10 working days — eight days for the government business and two days for private members.
Governor Tathagata Roy will address the House on the opening day of the session on March 8.
The budget will be passed on March 22 after presentation of the budget estimates on March 13.
Meanwhile, the second meeting of the High Power Committee set up for the construction of the new Assembly building was also held here on Tuesday.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said the meeting discussed about finalisation of the tendering process done by the PWD (building).
He said the committee has instructed the officers to go ahead with the financial bid after checking who the lowest bidder is.
The HPC will meet again on February 28.
